Jane the Virgin, 3.06 - "Chapter Fifty"

Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.

After ending on a wild note, Jane the Virgin loses some of the previous episode's sparkle and intrigue. On another note, the show is halfway to 100 and having been around since nearly the beginning of season 1, I'm proud of the cast for getting so far. Let's discuss!

Quick update for you all.

Hey guys! I'm sorry this is probably not the update you were expecting. I've already watched the most recent JTV and Pitch episodes and reviews will hopefully be out at least by the end of this week. I just wanted to let you all know that after today's episode of Supergirl, I will most likely stop watching the show altogether. I'm going to watch and review this episode because 1) it's part of the CW DCTV crossover and 2) I want to part the show knowing that my daughter Alex Danvers is proud of her identity and that my son James Olsen is succeeding at doing what he loves (even though I still don't really approve of it.)

Jane the Virgin, 3.05 - "Chapter Forty-Nine"

I've finally been catching up with Jane the Virgin, and DAMN, did I miss a lot. Chapter 50 (Halfway to 100! Wow I'm proud) will be up soon, but for now, let's dive right in to 49.

The Flash, 3.07 - "Killer Frost"

I had to start off with this quote this week because it is truly iconic. The Flash writers finally acknowledge the elephant in the room, which is how Barry's selfishness makes him a unique kind of villain, and I'm so excited to talk about it.

Supergirl, 2.07 - "The Darkest Place"

I am so pissed at this show it isn't even funny. This episode was so bad it doesn't even warrant a neutral introduction. Let's get into the roast.

The Flash, 3.06 - "Shade"

As Thanksgiving break approaches, I finally have some free time on my hands to catch up on my shows. I finally got to watch the most recent Flash episode 6 days late, and a lot happened.

Supergirl, 2.06 - "Changing"

I looked forward to this episode all week and watched so many scenes in the 2 minute videos released online, and it was actually pretty decent. However, there are some discoveries I made that....I don't know if I can get over, and definitely decreased my enjoyment of the episode. Let's get into it.

Pitch, 1.07 - "San Francisco"

I was crazy busy this week and I only got to catch up with Pitch now. Boy, have I missed out. Hopefully this week's episode will be up soon but for now, let's get started with last week's!

Arrow, 5.07 - "Vigilante"

So far this season, the odd episodes of Arrow have tended to be slightly better than their even counterparts. So compared to the disaster that was season 5, episode 6, episode 7 was much better. But even then, it still isn't that much better, so let's get into it.

Unfortunately I'm behind on nearly all of my shows at the moment, but since I got a request to review the Jane the Virgin episode from two weeks ago, let's get started! A lot happened, and there's a lot to talk about.

With one day left until the next Supergirl (and Jane the Virgin, sigh, I'm so behind) episode, I thought I'd finally share my thoughts about the previous one.

The Flash, 3.05 - "Monster"

Hi everyone! I finally got around to watching that Flash episode I missed. Supergirl will hopefully be up by tomorrow, as well as Pitch, so let's just get right into it.

The fact that I didn't watch the episode (over a week old) until now is probably a good indication of my interest level for this show. However, since I was feeling frustrated and upset with Arrow (the same way I felt about season 2 of Flash, ironically) I decided to finally watch it.

Arrow, 5.06 - "So It Begins"

Hey everyone! I apologize for not keeping up, A LOT has happened this week and I'm still trying to process and figure out what's going to happen in the future. I've watched the latest Supergirl episode and will be writing a review, forgive me - I just didn't want three Supergirl posts in a row. I have yet to watch Jane the Virgin or last week's episode of The Flash, but bear with me - I will try to post them all soon. So, you'll just have to settle with this week's episode of Arrow. Let's get started!

Supergirl, 2.04 - "Survivors"

I've finally caught up with Supergirl, so let's get into the latest episode! (Yes, I know this is a week late.)

Kara and J'onn discover that there is a secret underground alien fight club orchestrated by the cunning and smart Roulette, who makes money off of rich people bets. These fights often turn violent and end in the death of the loser. This discovery is especially personal to J'onn, as M'gann, his fellow Martian, is one of the club's top fighters. M'gann sells him out to Roulette, who forces the two to battle to the death. After shaming her for her priorities, J'onn realizes that she fights because she believes she deserves it for surviving. M'gann insists upon not killing her opponents, and they eventually reach a truce to defeat Roulette, who of course escapes arrest to some loophole that's never really explained.

Supergirl, 2.03 - "Welcome to Earth"

The long awaited review for Supergirl is finally here! This is for the 3rd episode only, but I've already watched the 4th one and hopefully a review will be up soon. Here we go!

Pitch, 1.06 - "Wear It"

Friday has finally arrived, and I decided to watch the new episode of Pitch instead of catching up on Supergirl. It sounds like procrastinating, and I actually kind of am. Sorry, Supergirl!! I'll get to y'all eventually! But I'm not here to talk about that, so let's get started. Once again, the super talented and amazing and diverse cast slayed with an emotional and raw episode.

Arrow, 5.05 - "Human Target"

Hey everyone! I'm back and better than ev- no, I'm really not. Arrow continues its season 5 streak of making me sad after I watch, but like the little blurb of this blog states, I continue to suffer through because I am too invested in these characters, particularly Arrow's, to back out now.

I'm saddened to admit it, but the Arrow writers have lost the ability to properly write characters. They keep introducing underdeveloped character after underdeveloped character, and nobody ends up being written well, not even the core three that the majority of the audience stayed for. They don't understand anyone's motivations and personalities anymore, and it's just saddening. It's a disservice to both the old and new characters, many of whom are WOC, something that Arrow severely lacks. I want to love them, but I have to wonder how fast they will be overtaken by bad writing. At this rate, I bet I could write a better season 5 than these supposedly professional writers.
