Hey guys! Long time no see! I know I said I would be writing more during summer, but unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to sit down and do just that, so today I'll be talking about something I've wanted to talk about for a while.
I'm sure you've all heard the news - after only one season at Fox, Pitch is no more. Fans had been waiting for months for potential news of a renewal, only to be let down by Fox, because they're Fox. The same goes with Netflix's The Get Down - set in the late 70s, the drama followed the rise of disco and R&B in the poor parts of the Bronx. (I've always wanted to review The Get Down on here as a separate entity, but alas, the show got cancelled before I could.) Both shows ended ambiguously, and both shows, despite having excellent writing and cast chemistry, were cancelled before their time. Something else they had in common? Both featured casts that contained mostly actors of color.
like the title implies, this is a blog created out of frustration about the poor state of the shows i watch. i continue to watch because i don't love myself.

Pitch, 1.09 - "Scratched"
Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.
Break is over (and it's completely unfair, since other schools have more days off), but I'm still working to catch up on my reviews. Let's get started with the second to last episode of Pitch season 1.

Pitch, 1.08 - "Unstoppable Forces and Immovable Objects"
Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.
Hey everyone! I know I mysteriously disappeared on you all for almost three weeks, and with many of my shows currently going on midseason hiatus, I can finally take a breather to catch up. I still have yet to review the last three episodes of Pitch season 1, so let's begin!

Pitch, 1.07 - "San Francisco"
Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.
I was crazy busy this week and I only got to catch up with Pitch now. Boy, have I missed out. Hopefully this week's episode will be up soon but for now, let's get started with last week's!

Pitch, 1.06 - "Wear It"
Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.
Friday has finally arrived, and I decided to watch the new episode of Pitch instead of catching up on Supergirl. It sounds like procrastinating, and I actually kind of am. Sorry, Supergirl!! I'll get to y'all eventually! But I'm not here to talk about that, so let's get started. Once again, the super talented and amazing and diverse cast slayed with an emotional and raw episode.

Pitch, 1.04 - "Alfonzo Guzman-Chavez"
Warning: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED.
I've only just discovered and started Pitch recently, but it is one of the few shows that I actually do not have any major complaints about. Not even my favorite show in the world, as I previously posted about, escapes my wrath. But with a diverse and talented cast, Pitch has so far done a great job of portraying racism and sexism in a white male-dominated sports industry that otherwise, I know little to nothing about. And it's kind of surprising to me that this show is on Fox, whose news counterpart is known for being...you guessed it, racist and sexist! So basically, what I'm saying is, this show is brilliant. More people should watch it. It should NOT be cancelled. Go watch it, people!
